A Calling to Serve

From a young age, I felt drawn to the military. My childhood was filled with G.I. Joe figures, plastic soldiers, tanks, and dreams of becoming a Marine. My greatest hero and closest role model was my grandfather, Victor McDaniel, a World War II veteran who landed at D-Day in Normandy and was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. Service was part of my family’s legacy—my father and three uncles also proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Answering the Call

In 1982, straight out of high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. What began as a dream became a lifelong commitment. I later deployed during Desert Storm and served as a squad leader within Marine Special Operations Command. The discipline, bonds, and brotherhood forged during service are unlike anything found elsewhere in life—and they stay with you long after the uniform comes off.

Life Beyond the Uniform

Making The Transition

The transition from military to civilian life can be one of the most difficult challenges a service member faces, with or without combat experience. It is a journey I have walked for more than three decades.

It is a journey I have walked for more than three decades.

The structure changes. The bonds feel different. The sense of purpose must be rediscovered. Through that journey, I have learned, struggled, adapted, and grown.

Why I Co-Founded Operation Honor & Aid

Co-founding Operation Honor & Aid is deeply personal to me. I know firsthand how isolating life after service can feel, and how valuable guidance, connection, and understanding truly are. My goal is to offer advice, a steady hand, and access to resources that can help ease that transition for others.

No one who has served should ever feel alone once their service ends.

A Message to Those Who Serve

A Sincere Thank You

Thank you for your sacrifice, your discipline, and your commitment to our country. It is an honor to stand beside you in service beyond the uniform.

God bless you all.
